Frequent questions:
What should I do if a pipe bursts?
The first thing to do is turn off the water. This usually happens in the toby (usually on the sidewalk in front of yoursShould). next if youTerB. a tank with a pump, turn off the power supply to the pump. Then unplug the hot water cylinder.
If the leak is hot water only, you can isolate the hot water cylinder by unplugging it.oInlet valve at the bottom of the hot water tank. Open a hot water faucet to relieve pressure. Disconnect power to the cylinder.
Can leaks increase over time?
Yes. Water leaks from your pipes or faucets will eventually cause so much corrosion that even a hole-sized leak can grow and damage your home.
What do I do if my toilet overflows?
An overflowing toilet is usually caused by a leaky tank fill valve or a damaged well or cable that determines the level. Whatever the cause, call us to solve your problem easily!
My toilet seems to run constantly. What can I do to fix it?
It depends on what's going on.
- If you have ever opened the toilet bowl, you have probably seen a metal or plastic ball floating in the water. This is called a float and determines the level of the toilet. If the float breaks, water will enter and the ball will not stay afloat. As a result, the toilet can overflow and water can enter the overflow pipe, creating a never-ending cycle of filling and emptying that hurts your water bill. Sometimes when attaching the float, the attached metal arm needs to be bent so that the float sits in the water. Be careful not to break it! In newer toilets, the float goes up and down in a plastic tube. While these are generally more durable than floating arms, the ball will occasionally get stuck in sand or debris and you may need to wave it by hand a few times to disengage it.
- If you have a flush cistern with a push button, it may also happen that the disc at the bottom of the flush valve does not seal well and the water runs into the toilet.
- If it still doesn't, you probably have a leaky flush valve. The drain valve is located at the bottom of the tank and is usually very easy to replace; remove it and install a new one.
How can I know if I have a gas leak?
Your device may be leaking if you smell gas. Signs that your gas appliance is working properly and needs to be checked are a yellow or orange flame or the pilot light that constantly goes out.
What are some of the best continuous hot water systems on offer compared to traditional heaters?
One advantage of instantaneous water heater systems is that, unlike traditional water heaters, they never run out of hot water!
While storage water heaters have limited capacity, continuous hot water systems heat the water as it flows through the system, meaning you'll never run out of hot water – essential when the whole family is at home. the city. !
My kitchen tap is too slow!
First check that the spout is not clogged. You can do this by simply unscrewing the end of the faucet spout, which contains a gauze filter that can often clog and stop the flow of water. Clean the grain and you will have much better water flow. There may also be a filter on the inlet side of the under-counter faucet that could be clogged. To fix this, the water supply must be turned off and the filters removed and cleaned.
If any of these options don't work, your faucet may not be designed for the type of hot water system you have. If so, give us a call and Michael will come and discuss your options with him.
Why does only a little water come out in my shower?
If the shower pressure is low, it could be because the water supply tank is mounted above the hot water tank or in the attic. Or it could be that you have a pressure reducing valve supplying water to the hot water tank.
There are several ways to increase the pressure of hot water in the shower.
- Replace the shower battery
- Replace shower rosettes: over time they become clogged with deposits and impede the flow of water.
- Change the mode of water supply to the shower using an open vent pressure reducing valve
- Replace the low-pressure water heater with a medium-pressure gas or electric system or mains pressure.
My bathroom is blocked. Aid!
You can try soaking yourself in the toilet, but that can also cause it.unnecessary pressure on the joints.
No hot water!
Make sure the hot water cylinder is turned on. The switch may have been pressed.
Check that the fuse board and circuit breaker are turned on.
No sparkling hot water!
The appliance is not working properly and could mean that there is no gas, water or electricity.
Make sure you get gas. If natural gas, is the meter shutoff valve open? If it is LPG, is there gas in the bottle?
Many gas water heaters require electricity to turn on; check the power supply of the house; check the circuit breaker on the appliance.
Still no hot water. . . . Call us now!
